Volunteers
Swimming clubs rely on parent /carers volunteers so our swimmers can compete at galas, attend swim camps and for the operations of the club itself.
Parents /carers participate in a wide range of roles with the club:
-
Officials who make galas and meets happen (e.g. timing officials, judges)
-
Team Managers who supervise and safeguard kids (e.g. at galas, meets, swim camps)
-
Trustees and Committee members (e.g. chair, treasurer, operations, membership, secretary, website, kit, swim camps)
-
Coaches (e.g. assistant swim coach)
-
Poolside helpers who assist the coaches
Organisers expect clubs to provide a quota of volunteers, or we don't get invited, can be fined, and in the worst case they have to cancel the whole event. We particularly need parents/carers as officials and time keepers.

Hackney Anaconda is run entirely by parent/carer volunteers - and without you there would be no club.
What’s in it for you:
-
Get actively involved in your child’s swimming development
-
Watch and support your child poolside at galas
-
Personal Development – you learn more about swimming
-
Save money at meets and events (free lunch, no spectator/ parking fees)
-
You help ensure that galas can take place
-
Keep Anaconda going as an active community club

Did you know that when there are not enough officials, galas get cancelled at short notice and can create disappointment and impact our swimmers progress!
