About

Hackney Anaconda
Hackney Anaconda is a high quality Swim England affiliated swimming club and aims to be your club for life: an inclusive, encouraging and enjoyable competitive swimming club. We are committed to delivering a high-quality aquatics programme from beginner to national level working in partnership with Hackney and Islington Councils and the City of London Corporation.
Our programme goes well beyond the traditional competitive swimming club approach and includes opportunities for young people to exercise and acquire skills and confidence both in and outside the water.
Membership is open to everyone, especially residents of Hackney, Islington, City of London and other nearby London boroughs.

While Hackney Anaconda is a single club we operate two groups under their own brand names: Anaconda Swim School and Hackney Masters.

Swim School
Anaconda Swim School has been trusted by parents for nearly 50 years to deliver quality swimming lessons with a pathway to competitive swimming at several pools in Islington & City of London.
Learn to Swim – group sessions for children aged 4+ with a lead teacher and their team of swimming teachers and assistants.
Little Anaconda – small group and private sessions for children aged 3+.
Baby Anaconda – parent and baby sessions for children aged 1 to 2.
Age Group Swimming
Our Age Group squads cater to young people, ranging from Academy (for competitive beginners) and Para squad to Performance Squads. Fitness squads are also available for those with other commitments or who prefer non-competitive swimming. The club strives to be flexible and responsive to each swimmer's needs and offers.
Masters Swimming
We have an active group of Hackney Masters swimmers training at Clissold and Britannia Leisure Centre, London Aquatics Centre, and London Fields Lido. Our Hackney Masters swimmers compete in various events, from local swimathons and open water swims to County Championships, Nationals, and European Masters Championships.

History
The two neighbouring clubs formally merged in [2025] following four (?) years of successful collaboration both in and out of the pool. Both legacy clubs had long and strong individual presences in age group swimming, but the combination of squads in "Hackney Anaconda" allows the larger number of swimmers to be placed in squads better tailored according to age, ability, goals and location. Meanwhile Anaconda Swim School and Hackney Masters continue under their own strong brands within Hackney Anaconda.
