Masters

Our Masters squad is a diverse group of competent swimmers ranging from ages 18 to 70 and beyond. We have nine training sessions a week, mornings and evenings, at Clissold Leisure Centre in Stoke Newington, Britannia Leisure Centre in Hoxton and the London Fields Lido.

Our coaches are approachable, enthusiastic and experienced at supporting a diverse range of abilities, whether you’re training for competition, looking to improve fitness or focusing on open water distance swims.

Masters enter a range of competitions from local swimathons and open water swims, to County Championships, Nationals and European Championships. â€‹â€‹

Pool Competition

Our race squad grows in number, camaraderie, enthusiasm and success, with regular representation at county, regional, national and international competitions. The squad includes national and European medallists.

Competition is encouraged, with certain training sessions in the weekly timetable being geared toward racing and tailored according to the competition calendar.

Swimmers interested in competing should join the 'Race Squad' members WhatsApp group to keep abreast of upcoming events.

Joining

If you’re interested in joining, just register your interest HERE - we’ll add you to our waiting list for a free taster session. Please see below for our minimum requirements.

Please note that the waiting list is quite long and it may be a few weeks or months before we are able to offer you a taster session.

Minimum Requirements

Competent in at least three of the four strokes, able to swim 2-2.5k per session, swim 6x100m on a turnaround of approximately 2 mins 15 secs and comply with standard lane etiquette. The coach reserves the right to decide who can safely attend sessions.

Open Water

Many of our Masters swap the pool for lakes, lochs, reservoirs, seas or oceans - open water swims are a key element of their mental and physical wellbeing programme, and their social life!

Over the summer we offer a limited number of open water sessions at the West Reservoir Centre (additional fee). For more information see HERE.

Our members often swim there year-round. Members also travel for swims in the UK or abroad and book open water events and swimming holidays together.
