Harry Grubb

Head Teacher

Harry has been a part of the club family since the age of 4, progressing as a swimmer from the swim school programme all the way through to the competitive club. At the age of 16, he became a qualified swimming teacher and started working with both the swim school programme and the competitive club. Harry became the lead coach for the academy squad in 2022, supporting the swimmers transition from the swim school programme into competitive swimming smoothly. From 2021 - 2023, Harry worked full time within swimming, both working for the club and delivering school swimming lessons to a wide range of schools. He has experience teaching public primary and secondary schools, disability schools and behavioural management schools.

Harry holds many other qualifications that have supported him to develop his knowledge around both teaching and coaching swimming. The qualifications he holds are; Level 2 Swimming Teacher, Level 2 Swimming Coach, BSc degree in Sports, Health and Exercise Sciences, PGCE and QTS in Primary Education, and RLSS NRASTC lifeguarding and SSHSA qualifications.

Harry’s experience at the club has influenced his huge passion for swimming and all sports, which is clearly evident throughout his work for the club, whether at training sessions, training camps and competitions. Delivering success at all levels of the swimming club is hugely important for Harry, which has helped the club see swimmers progress from the swim school programme into high level competitive swimmers.
